Perhaps it’s just me but I find these little codes great fun. But not many people, present company excluded, seem to get it. I printed some out HUGE at the last studio i was working at and people didn’t understand what it was and what to do with it, despite instructions - strange you might think for a design agency with creative curious minds - but this isn’t uncommon. I’ve been asked by visitors to this site why and what that symbol is.
So there is an awareness job to be done when using these in a campaign or general communication strategy. The most wide scale execution of these I’ve seen is on Pepsi bottles. The purpose was to drive drinkers to a competition but i’ve also noticed them pop up in all sorts of places, including an inland revenue form. I’ll add snaps of these as and when.
